Employee Benefits

ITRI employees receive benefits well beyond the industrial norm or mandated by law. They are described below.

Compensation

--Competitive salaries and annual performance-based bonuses
--Over twenty prizes awarded annually for outstanding achievements in innovative research, patent applications, publications, and more.
--25% of any earnings from patent licensing are reserved for the inventor(s), allowing many researchers to take home at least as much from patent fees as they do in salary.

Comprehensive Medical Insurance

In addition to statutory labor insurance and national health insurance, all employees are covered by additional group health insurance provided by ITRI. Each campus has a medical clinic and an employee counseling center.

Employee Housing

ITRI provides on-campus dormitories for single employees as well as off-campus family units in a quiet, park-like gated community. Temporary accommodations are available for visitors.

Generous Retirement Package

Every month ITRI contributes an amount equal to 8% of salary to an investment account in the employee's name, managed by Fubon Life Insurance Co. Employees have a number of options as to how this money is invested, and non-citizens of Taiwan can withdraw the money without penalty on leaving ITRI employment.

Group Activities and Sports Facilities

ITRI provides a wide range of recreational facilities on campus, including basketball and tennis courts, a swimming pool, billiards and table tennis, exercise machines, badminton courts, aerobics classrooms, and a chess room. About a dozen domestic and overseas tours are organized each year.

Childcare Services

Subsidized childcare for both pre-school and school-age children is provided at daycare centers, on and off ITRI premises. Employees' children also receive educational grants and scholarships.

Employee Cafeteria

ITRI's subsidized employee canteen offers three meals a day, 7 days a week; average meal cost is about US$1.

Commuter Bus Service

Dedicated commuter bus service for employees, serving a wide area.
