Common Research Facilities
Nanotechnology was made possible by ultra-precision measurement
and fabrication. For any nanotechnology research program, it is
essential to have ready access to superior and often very expensive
research facilities. Besides making heavy investments to acquire
state-of the-art instrumentations and making them the hub for
ITRI’s nanotechnology research, NTRC has also undertaken
to connect ITRI’s ten existing facility centers, including
IC fabrication, optoelectronic, materials and chemicals laboratories,
etc. in a networked manner to serve not only ITRI but also outside
partners. Collaboration is a major purpose of the common facility
center. We regard it as an “open laboratory” to be
shared with our partners from both academia and industry, domestic
and abroad.
